Feedback from Previous Events
Sydney, NSW - 13th to 15th February 2009
| The weekend of events
started on Friday with ladies travelling from around Australia and arriving from
2.30. Unfortunately, the weather was particularly nasty and after an
impromptu picnic we headed to the local drinking establishment, the Wentworth Falls Golf Club which was a
mere 150 metre walk.
Try and imagine 20 locals, having a quiet beverage at their local after a hard day at work, chatting about their day and in walks a rather large group of ladies out to have a good time. As luck would have it (or not), karaoke started at 8.30 pm. Sounds poxy? Think again - our laughter and high spirits were contagious and the whole golf club joined us until the early hours of the morning singing and dancing.

The masquerade ball was a huge success! Everyone dressed up, donned their masks and whilst the weather outside was grey and drizzly the mood inside was lively, spirited, and lifting. A three course dinner was served at 7.30 pm with supper being the "breast" cake which was very kindly donated by Cake Art in Penrith. Whilst I attempted to convey the importance of breast screening in a light hearted and non-speech fashion, I'm afraid the soap box came out. Feel your tits ladies!!! |

The "biggest" competition went to lovely E cup winner, Gae.
Designed by a Sydney designer who, unfortunately, ask that I not
acknowledge her in reference to our group, The Pearls of
Hope were specifically designed for the National Breast Cancer
Foundation. |

The winner of the Most Pink competition won a bracelet very kindly donated by a survivor all the way from the USA. Other prizes included a lucky door prize of a nights dinner, bed and breakfast donated by Rydges which went to the lady who put up with the most from an airline to get to us - the lovely Tan! The night didn't finish until 5.30 am so no sleep for the wicked and we were very wicked! |

| Bucket
List
Lastly, I asked ladies to complete a "bucket" list. Several years ago, I was told I had cancer and naturally, when you hear the big C word, your life passes before you so I made a bucket list. If any of you ladies are familiar with the movie with Jack Nicolson and Morgan Freeman, you will know that they both had life threatening illnesses and both made a "to do list before I kick the bucket". I asked all of the ladies to complete their bucket list - the lists varied but over the next few months, each and every ladies bucket list will have one tick against it and the feedback will be included. Feedback: Thanks Kat for a great weekend. Hope you had a safe trip back. Can you say thanks to Lisa for the extra treat box for my friend (she is also a survivor - 5 years out and will be thrilled with the bracelet as she missed ordering it when it was in the catalogue.) Cheers, J Hey Kat, just a short e-mail to let you know i got home safe. I had a great weekend hope to come to another one in the future. Pxxxxxxx Hi
Kat – sorry I didn’t email sooner. Caught up on the sleep
and early start at work today. It was wonderful to hear that
the fundraiser was a success and the weekend was wonderful yet
again. Don’t know how you do it with all the stress and
pressure, but you managed to pull it off with style again.
Thanx so much and would appreciate any info from the weekend or
photos you are able to pass on.
Hi Kat, I
arrived home safely... and just woke up from a very long nanna
nap! Had a fabulous weekend, yet again. It was my
4th, and I always enjoy it better than the last, once again I
met MORE new friends lovely ladies one and all. Karaoke...
Brilliant! Masquerade Ball... absolutely fabulous!
I'm looking forward to the next one,
and will be booking in really, really early. Love you
heaps, thank you for another brilliant weekend. Also, a
big thank you to your beautiful assistant, Lisa. Jane
Hiya, I am home safe and sound. Thanks for a great weekend, you did an excellent job organising the new venue at the last minute. Your food is to die for and the booby cake was great. All the ladies were very welcoming and friendly. Will be seeing you again sometime in the future. Love Sara Hi Kat, thank you for a fantastic weekend. My first but not my last. I had a super time, the ladies were all wonderful and I felt totally relaxed as soon as you gave me the coffee and that was 5 minutes after I arrived. I still can't believe how you did it. I felt like I'd known those women for years. I had a better time on the weekend with women that I'd only known a few hours than with friends I'd known my hole life. The ball was fantastic, you did a fantastic job the food was to die for. I could go on but I expect you've heard it before. I can't wait until the next one. My face still hurts because I laughed so much - your laugh is totally infectious. What a fantstic time. Regards and cya S. |
